Facebook, Insta, Whatsapp back after outage, firm cites faulty configuration change as root cause

Services of Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp started coming back online on Tuesday after an outage that lasted almost six hours. The services went down at about 16:00 GMT with users beginning to gain access to the sites at around 22:00. Facebook Inc on Monday cited faulty configuration changes on its routers as the root cause of the nearly six-hour outage that prevented the company's 3.5 billion users from accessing its social media and messaging services.
